Laskar Pelangi Documentation | Part 1

Hollaaaa...my readers...

Today, I'm not going to talk about makeup....instead of talking 'bout it, I'll post 'bout another topic...
As an Indonesian, I bet all of you have known the Laskar Pelangi novel or named The Rainbow Troops in English version. This novel has captured the heart of so many Indonesians and has been translated into 19 languages, not to mention also published in many countries. Besides Laskar Pelangi, there are other three amazing sequels of it: Sang Pemimpi (The Dreamer), Edensor and Maryamah Karpov.

Belitung-born writer Andrea Hirata is an author of Laskar Pelangi, it's a half-fiction-moving story about poor students who are studying at the neglected village school on the island named Belitung. They guarded by caring and extraordinary teachers who have helped them pursuing their dreams. However at the end of story, the power of education can show us that it is the exact way to release them from the poverty, although not everybody has the chance for it. Laskar Pelangi has attracted audiences around the globe and has achieved some awards. It teaches us of never being afraid to dream, once you dare to dream, your mind will lead you to your destination. Never underestimate the power of hope, dream and mind....

So here are some documentations of the real school that portrayed in the Laskar Pelangi novel. This small school - once named Muhammadiyah Elementary School is located at Gantong village, Belitung......., nowadays it is not run anymore. Nearby from here, there's a replica of this school which is used to be visited by some tourists.

OMG, I was so fat....I promise I'm slimmer now :))

W E D D I N G M A K E U P | Soft Colors VS Darker Colors

Hiiiii....guysss.....

Today I'd like to show you a wedding makeup using two different color tones. Actually both of them are using the same wedding dress and accessories, the difference in each makeup is only on the color tones. Believe it or not, however it may change the whole look :)

Overall, I'd prefer to use achromatic colors just like usual. For the first makeup, I apply soft colors, such as: peach, nude pink, orange and gold which are suitable for the wedding ceremony event. While for the second one, I apply the same colors but with darker tones which are suitable for the wedding reception. Usually wedding reception requires more glamor appearance, so the use of darker colors is accepted.

Here they are.....

* * * Wedding Makeup with Soft Colors * * *

* * * Wedding Makeup with Darker Colors * * *

And.....this is the Eye Makeup in detail.....

Hopefully it may inspire you, with the simple things...you can achieve the different nuance :)

ps: I just try the eyebrow pencil from Etude in dark brown, and it looks awesome (see the pic above). Luuuuvvvvvv it so much, not only easy to use but also great! I think, it's gonna be my "must-have" item list

SIMPLE EID | Makeup

Hollaaaaaa.....my readers,
How are you? .... just keep healthy and beautiful okay... :)

I just have had a long vacation for two weeks, so you'll find out now why rarely do I update my blog... *alibi* ..... Well, I and other muslim communities worldwide had just celebrated Idul Fitri (Eid al-Fitr) day - a muslim feast day. In this festive occasion, we return to our hometown to visit parents, family, relatives, neighbors, friends and other elders to ask for forgiveness.

On the Idul Fitri day, we usually dress our new and best clothes to greet each other, regarding to this I'm gonna show you a Simple Eid Makeup. You also can use it either for daily or another occasion, beside for Idul Fitri day.

So this is it....

Actually my client has hooded eyes which usually require scotch tape to improve the appearance of eyelid. For client with this type of monolid, I usually put scotch tape on. But I want to try another way how to improve them only with eyeshadows, using soft smokey eyes technique.

For Eid Makeup I apply the concept of soft makeup and playing with the hijab creation as well, I think soft makeup will be the most appropriate, since we will meet the elders on this joyous day. So soft makeup is kinda representation of respecting them.

So guys...
I Wish You and Your Family a Very Happy Eid....
May the light that we celebrate at Eid, show us and lead us together on the path of peace and social harmony.

P R E W E D D I N G | Makeup Part 2

Holllaaaa....

Dear my readers, it has been so looonngggg timeeee nooo seeeee youuu..., so sorry for that...
I must admit that lately I've been so lazyyyy....hehehe, however I promise I won't let you down, I'll try to keep posting something interesting.....

Okey guyss...this time, I'd like to show you another prewedding makeup by me. My client's name is Peatric and she will get married next month. Wow only one month left...July might be a very busy month for her I bet! Anyway I wish that everything will be okay, both the preparation and the ceremony.

So here she is..... (It's too bad I forgot to take the BEFORE pic of her)

The theme for today's prewedding photoshoot is PINK - a lovely beautiful color! I also put some gold and silver accessories to bring more variations and to avoid monotone to the existing color.

The concept for today's makeover is Light Makeup and Simple Hair Do. Why? because I want her to look different on her big day not on her prewed day. I have prepared special makeup and hair do for it. By wearing more dramatic and elegant makeup, I believe the guests will fail to recognize her..hehehe...

Today Peatric is wearing Kebaya (in pinky of course). Kebaya is a traditional blouse-dress combination that originates from Indonesian. It's worn by women in Indonesia especially on wedding day or other special occasions.

Here are some lists of makeup products that I use:
| Revlon Whipped Foundation | Loreal True Match Mineral Powder | Aubeau Eyeshadow Base | Loreal Best Magique | Maybelline Mascara | PAC Highlight Powder & Shading | Bourjois Blush On | PAC Lipstick and Lip Gloss | The Body Shop Eyebrow & Eyeliner | PAC Eyeshadow | Ardelya Accessories |

Happy Trying ^^

S A R I A Y U | Shimmering Powder

Holaaaa my luvly readers ^^

Mica CI 77019, Methicone, Dimethicone, Talc, Ethylhexyl, Cychexyl Palmitate, Squalane, Titanium Dioxide CI 77891, Silica, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, C9-15 Fluoroalcohol Phosphates, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclotetrasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Zinc Myristate, Sorbitan Laurate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Amethyst Powder, Ethylexyl Methoxycinnamate, Bisabolol, Farnesol, Propylparaben, Benzophenone-3 (Oxybenzone), Methylparaben, Cearyl Ethyl Hexanoate, Sorbitan Isostearate, Portulaca Pilosa extract, Sucrose Cocoate, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38, Decylene Glycol, BHT, Alumunium Calcium Sodium Silicate, CI 77491, CI 75470, CI 77492, CI 77499

(+)
- Murah dibandingkan produk impor
- Warnanya cantik
- Mudah di-blend
- Memberikan efek glowy pada kulit
- Praktis karena merupakan all in one product
- Sudah dilengkapi dengan spon aplikator dan pouch

(-)
- Tekstur powder-nya rapuh (takutnya kalau dibawa travelling mudah pecah)
- Coverage-nya kurang menutup sempurna
- Too glittery for a daylight

Repurchase? definitely not!
Hope my review will help :)

Ari

P R E W E D D I N G | Makeup

Hollaaaa.....

This time, I'd like to introduce you my sister in law to be :) Her name is Wulan, she is my lil' bro's girlfriend. Uummhhh they have had a relationship since four years ago if I'm not mistaken. I don't have any idea whether they'll plan to get married soon or not, she just asks me to do her pre-wedding makeup. At the same time, Maybelline and Guardian hold a makeover competition on twitter. Well I have the same moment accidentally :) I do the pre-wedding makeup then I send it for the competition.

Since this competition is sponsored by Maybelline and Guardian, all the makeup products must use the Maybelline brand and I have to buy some of them at the Guardian store. It doesn't matter...some of my collection are from Maybelline....so I just need to complete the rest of them. Here it is my haul....

And voilaaa...here it is my lil sis in law to be in her pre-wedding makeover...
